The Awakening

The Awakening By Kelley Armstrong
The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

If you had met me a few weeks ago, you probably would have described me as an average teenage girl--someone normal. Now my life has changed forever and I'm as far away from normal as it gets. A living science experiment--not only can I see ghosts, but I was genetically altered by a sinister organization called the Edison Group. What does that mean? For starters, I'm a teenage necromancer whose powers are out of control; I raise the dead without even trying. Trust me, that is not a power you want to have. Ever.

Now I'm running for my life with three of my supernatural friends--a charming sorcerer, a cynical werewolf, and a disgruntled witch--and we have to find someone who can help us before the Edison Group finds us first. Or die trying

An Awesome Trilogy I will always love. Recommended! Be ready for a spinechilling experience!

Clockwork Angel

Clockwork Angel. Book 1. Cassandra Clare. 2010.
The Infernal Devices Series
My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Magic is dangerous-- but love is more dangerous still

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

This book is so Amazing. i would love to live in that Nephilim Institute, why? becauseeeeee of Jem and Will! these two gorgeous young Nephilim are a Shadowhunters- a race of people wth special abilites stronger and swifter than most humans skilled at killing demons, like an ANGELs only half human (if you ask me) Im torn between these two lovers of our sixteen years old Tessa the Shapeshifter. Tessa who is mundane(human) lives in NYC left to find her one and only brother in London- where her brother had told her would be working, by unfortunate events things went wrong for Tessa and was captured by the warlocks The Dark Sisters. These sisters had blackmailed her about her brother, in return for his safety she was required to do what shes been told, and from there her life will never be the same again. youve got to read this book CC was awesome a world full of actions, thrillers(it was scary), mysteries and romance! vampires, demons, automatons(neither made of hell nor heaven )well it was a fun read with a laugh too. humurous story line was fantastic i was really hooked up with this book. cant wait to read the book 2 Clockwork Prince. Recommended!

The Devouring

The Devouring. Simon Holt

"When dark creeps in and eats the light,
Bury your fears on Sorry Night.
For in the winter's blackest hours,
Comes the feasting of the Vours,
No one can see it, the life they stole,
Your body's here but not your soul..."

THE VOURS: Evil, demonic beings that inhabit human bodies on Sorry Night, the darkest hours of the winter solstice, just a few days before Christmas...

Reggie is a fan of horror stuff such as movies or books anything with scary stuff on it. One day, Reggie brought home a journal from the bookshop where she works when she's not in school. This creepy journal doesnt have any author or worse wasnt even published at all, as she had proven that when she took a research over the internet and no such journal ever came out. One night- few days before Christmas, something happened, something evil happened on Reggies house and her younger brother Henry. From there, Reggie has to find a way to save the day, to save those people she loves. devouring fear. is it the only way? would you give up your souls and give in to evil? What could you desperately do to get back what youve lost? I had fun with this book, full of spinechilling moments and well some kicking butts moments too. Evil, Friendship and Love, The devouring is irresistable. Cant wait for The Soulstice Book 2 and Fearscape Book 3

Angel

Angel. Cliff McNish.

Not fit to be a daughter, not fit to be a friend... not fit to be an angel...

Two girls are inextricable linked by destiny, not choice. Stephanie is a friendless, strange, a misfit.
Freya, cant stop seeung angels. but when one of those angels begin to stalk her, its shadow following her everywhere, Freya s forced to make a decisions with devastating reach-from which there is no turning back.

I think this book is quite a good and decent fantasy book. i liked it. the plot was great, with angels and dark angel its a bit creepy but it was a delightful read, i was living with fearing for those people Freya cares about, annoyed with some characters(cant help that) and also some scenes made me in tears. for me the story line was good, Pain, Love, Friendship and Sacrifices, this book has a moral lessons too . good for teens. and not bad for adults. cheers.

Flowers in the Attic

. Flowers in the Attic. V. C. Andrews. 1979.

Way upstairs there are four secrets hidden. Blond beautiful, innocent little secrets, struggling stayalive."

I did like this book though its strange in some other way but i still did LIKE it, I'm actually looking forward for the next book. i thought it was fantastic, storyline was good. its kinda realistic fiction if you ask me. when i said strange, it is really strange because as i never yet experience or encounter something like this in any way that i am aware of, at least that's what i know. if you read this book you'll know what i mean i don't want to give too much away. moving on, the four Dollanger children had such perfect lives- a beautiful mother, a doting father, a lovely home, then daddy was killed in a car accident and momma could no longer support the family. So she began writing to her millionaire parents, whom the children never heard of before, an evil grandparents. in exchange for a favor, her children will be locked away in a room which is connected in the attic, yes in the attic the only place they can go to besides the room. the mother promised her children that they will be out as soon as her father(grandfather) die. but why?

"Well," I began in my hoarse, choked voice, while clinging to the only one who seemed to care anymore, "does money make the world go around, or is it love? Enough love bestowed on the twins, and i would have read six or seven or maybe eight inches gain in height, not only two."
A light read but very moving, full of mysteries and shocking secrets that will keep u on reading it. some will find this odd but it also can happen and possible to happen in real life, i did find it uncomfortable at first but the story line was really good that i want to kick these nasty evils who made the children suffer. cruel and shocking. it will have to find the right audience for this book, but i gave it a go and i don't regret spending my time reading it. V.C. Andrews is really good. this book also has a movie but i don't know if its any good with the book the book for me was definitely way better than the movie. in the movie, Cathy the eldest in the girl was way older compare to the book which ruined it and they should do a remake of this and it should be a proper, Hollywood should stop changing the scenes from the book really its getting annoying already

The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

The Reckoning. by Kelley Armstrong
THE DARKEST POWERS (Book 3)

My name is Chloe Saunders. I'm fifteen, and I would love to be normal. But normal is one thing I'm not.For one thing, I'm having these feelings for antisocial werewolf and his sweet-tempered brother-who just happens to be a sorcerer-but, between you and me, I'm leaning toward the werewolf. Not normal. My friends and i are also on the run from an evil corporation that wants to get rid of us-permanently.Definitely not normal.

And finally, I'm a genetically altered necromancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying.

As far away from normal as it gets.

Personally, I wasn't really up for a werewolf as I'm an avid fan of Edward Collins from Twilight, and my choice was Simon for Chloe before, but in the long run of reading this book made me think werewolf is hot! I mean I'm so addicted to The Darkest Power Trilogy! when I finished this 3rd book, I was left wanting for more of Derek and Chloe, of course Simon and Tori too. Kelley Armstrong is sensational, The Darkest Power trilogy is next to my top fave Harry Potter books series.

Moving on, The Reckoning is absolutely Fantastic. Spine-chilling moments and intense actions, that will put you on the edge of your seat. Most of the time, I found myself clenching my jaw or loathing those mad scientist whose after our superheroes. This Trilogy are really creepy and super scary, imagine a rotting corpses crawling your way holding your ankle? Totally recommended. You'll miss half of your life not reading this Trilogy. A breath-taking masterpiece! RECOMMENDED.

Reckless by Cornelia Funke

Reckless. Cornelia Funke. 2010.

"Ride Jacob. Draw them away, before your brother gets it into his head to join them."

Book Synopsis:
Through a mirror..
is a dangerous world. For years, Jacob Reckless has enjoyed its secrets and treasures. Not any more. His younger brother(Will) has followed him. Now dark magic will turn the boy to beast, break the heart of the girl he loves, and cause chaos to rule forever...

You thought you new about fairy tales? THINK AGAIN.

I've fell in love with our hero Jacob Reckless, my ideal kind of guy, a gentleman, romantic and achingly flawed- just like what the publisher of this book said. well what can i say? the publisher already said it all. Funke have created such a very compelling story and a wonderful magical world "through the mirror" and also an amazing hero, characters and plot, that made me wanting more and more . You don't want to mess up with a Dark Witch nor with a Goyle do you?! this book is pact with adventures, brotherhood, betrayals, dark magic and happy ever after ending... OR was it? I really LOVED this one. I'm actually looking forward for the book 2, I want more of Jacob! I RECOMMEND this book to everyone (kids ya and adult)! cheers.
here's one of my favourite lines:
"Her skin smelled of autumn and the wind. Don't, Jacob. But it was too late. Clara didn't flinch as he pulled her close. He grabbed her hair, kissed her mouth, and felt her heart beating fast as his own. The tiny hearts of the larks had burst from the madness. Hence the name: Lark's Water. Innocent, cool and clear, but just one sip and you were lost. Let her go, Jacob. But he kissed her again and it was his name she whispered, not Will's."
Cornelia Funke's other famous books, Inkheart (it also has a movie), InkSpell, Inkdeath and many more..

Just recently i found out that this book has in common with this movie The Brothers Grimm casting Matt Damon and Heath Ledger as Will and Jake. in this movie also shows significance in the book Reckless check it out

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong.

THE DARKEST POWERS (Book 1)

"Young Chloe Saunders has a gift. And that makes her dangerous."

No, there was something to the right, moving on the dirt. i could make only the dark shape, dragging itself toward me.

Wow. This book had me at hello. The plot was unpredictable, oh yes scary alright-, the story was moving, intriguing it made me so curious i was hooked up. It's creepy aye! specially when Chloe seeing ghost or worse, dead bodies. I don't know how to give my review without giving too much away, I want to just give you hints but i don't want to spoil your reading. Its much better reading without having too much idea whats gonna happen right? The ending also left me hanging that i already reserved my self the rest of the series.. also i didn't know this was a series until i searched for the author's. This book was so interesting, the world, a mad world, that the author made- I mean shes awesome. I cant wait to read the rest of her books.

Anyway, moving on. Chloe just wanted her life to be normal, as in normal like teenagers have, like being piled up with homework, a monthly period and maybe... a cute boy.... But life isn't going to be like that for her, or at least that's what she knew. After the incident that happened to her school which she totally freaked out big time, she was sent to the group home called Lyle house, it is a place for the kids with problems such as mental, etc., so they say. But things aren't getting any better for her. In the Lyle house, she have met friends, whom has their own problem as well like her, and she'll meet enemies of course. But what is it that Chloe didn't know about her, about everything that is happening to her and to everyone that she knows, the danger that awaits her? betrayal, evil, friendship and magic, this book is pact of thrilling scenes that will put you on the edge of your seat, and will leave you wanting more.Kelley Armstrong is sensational! Get ready for a scream(internal ofcourse)! click to see the Book 3

Ruined by Paula Morris

RUINED by Paula Morris

RUINED.a novel by Paula Morris.2009.
"And another girl" Her aunts voice, shrill all of a sudden, cut through the dead air of the parlor, "Miss Celia saw another girl, high above. She pointed up to the stone angel on top of the tomb, and at first the Bowman's thought that was the second girl, that Miss Celia must be talking about the angel. But she told them there'd be another Bowman daughter, of the same age. That night the girls would come face to face, lit by torchlight. One girl would live, and the other would die. And the curse would die with her."

I so loved loved loved this historical fantasy book. a very compelling novel, creepy, and un putdownable . they should make a movie of this. the story started at 1830 that will connect to our modern time. It happened in New Orleans, after the storm Katrina. which ruined most of the houses and buildings that made most of the people flew to another place. You ll also learned about free people of color the descendants of slaves, Plebs, and Debs, its so cool. Our girl named Rebecca who met a black girl Lisette and Anton(her love interest) in the cemetery, from there the story will unfold secrets and mysteries, that people tried to keep her in the dark just to save her life or would they?this book is RECOMMENDED! did a really good job with the characters, the plot everything. its really awesome!

TEASER:
Septimus Parade Night- Through the cemetery gate, masked men poured: some carried flaming torches smalled than the ones toted by te flambeaux. Others climbed onto the float, detaching Rebecca's headdress and pulling her roughly our of her pinioned skirt. She struggled, kicking her legs wildly at them, lashing out with her arms. Writhing and twisting, she could see that Marianned was no kinger on the float; stewards were gone as well. There was just her, the immobile costumes, and these ominous, silent men in masks and dark capes.

Meridian by Amber Kizer

MERIDIAN by Amber Kizer
Meridian by Amber Kizer. 2009.

"Half human, half angel, Meridian Sozu has a dark responsibility."

chapter 13

December 22, 1985
I glimpsed the face of a dear Fenestra friend yesterday. She now walks as one of them. At her side as her Protector, her lover, turned Dark as well. The Nocti grow stronger upon our weaknesses and I know not how to battle them. I fear facing one as I fear nothing else.

-Joecelyn Wynn

Tens stomped into my space; he leaned down and got right in my face."Making yourself sick isn't going to help anyone. You have to be strong so you don't____" He broke off, bracketing my face with his hands so I had to look at him. I had to gaze into those amazing infinite eyes of his and see the reflection of a girl i didn't know anymore. "The world needs you."He rested his forehead against mine as tears dropped from his cheeks onto mine."I need you, Meridian."
I sighed and learned into him.
"I love you. Don't you know that?"He'd closed his eyes with his confession.

OMG. you've got to read this book. I'm so all over this book that finished it in one sitting. I am not a teenager myself but I actually loved this book! Couldn't put it down. I'm so excited to give my review.
Meridian grew up surrounded by death and grief, that she thinks she causes deaths around her and feels pain inside her that she didn't know where it came from. when she turned sixteen, it is time.....an accident happened in front of their house, suddenly shed seen life of each person flashes through her mind and felt unbearable pain. her mother had been afraid to tell her whats happening to her and their running out of time,She needed to be away to her family and set off to find someone, the only one who could teach her everything that she didn't knew she would be capable of and would tell her what she really are.... a Fenestra, half human, half angel, the link to the living and the dead.. of course i wont say everything here alright. but this what made me giggled most of the time was our heroin's Protector Tens, I'm so in love with Tens, he is a fearless gentleman and sooo romantic!

If this could actually be true that there are Fenestra existing in this world, don't you want to be around them when your time is about to end?
And if you can be a light to the souls, would you be protected by someone like Tens from the Nocti?Would you believe in destiny?

This one is once again an Outstanding well written story. one of my fave in my shelf, . I was almost in tears in some scenes, I felt so connected with Meridian i can almost feel what is it like in her position. the presence of compassion or concern with the characters in the story was so rich and real. oh and don't forget about the wolf pet, i love animals and she never forget Costus in the story, not like some books out there that I have read that would just leave the pets out and wont mention it again in the end, like duh. anyway, the author AK was brilliant! Dark and Romantic is what they say.. LOVED the plot LOVED the characters. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. RECOMMENDED.
