ARC Review: Boyfriend From Hell by E Van Lowe
Boyfriend From Hell by E Van Lowe
Expected publication: September 10th 2011 by White Whisker Books “You cant be a bad girl, unless you actually do something bad.”
Fifteen year-old Megan Barnett and her single mom, Suze, have a special relationship—they are friends, close friends, who do almost everything together.
“But come on, guys, she’s my mother… Can I really tell her that while we’re snuggled up on the sofa watching Spider Man Three, I’m secretly undressing James Franco with my eyes? Of course not…”
The special bond takes a turn for the worse when Suze decides to start dating again. She hasn’t had a man in her life since Megan’s father left ten years ago.
Enter two mysterious young men, Megan’s new classmate, sinfully attractive bad boy, Guy Matson, and the dangerously handsome art dealer, Armando. Before long Megan and Suze both wind up in steamy relationships.
But neither of the handsome pair is quite what he seems. In fact, one of them is Satan, with his sights set on a new bride. Megan has precious little time to figure out how to stop him. If she doesn’t, either Megan or Suze are quite literally going to HELL
For Megan Barnett ( a teenage girl who loves trivia and math), everything in her life were going down the hill, her Mom starting to look for a boyfriend, and her best friends Mike and Errin hooking up with each, that leaves Megan boyfriendless and a jealous kind of a daughter and friend, at least that's what her friends thinks. Finally her Mom met this gorgeous guy at the Art Gallery and Megan has her eye on a very arrogant hot boy, named Guy, in her school. Just when she thought life’s not that bad, a strange thing happened that will change her life from not bad to a chaos…
I am so glad I read this book, I loved it! First thing, our heroine Megan was hilarious, flawed (which I always like in my heroines) and loved her Mother so much she’ll do everything to keep her safe. The story was moving and full of suspense that kept me up all night. I don’t want to spoil this for you, but it was shocking I didn’t see it coming. I loved the twist and turn, its unpredictable and ending man! Left me wanting for more of Guy and Megan. It wasn’t a heavy read and I did enjoy it and impressed me all the same. The narration was amazing. I was cracking up most of the time, I almost choke on my hot chocolate, trying to keep myself from bursting into a laugh, Megan is seriously funny. I cant wait for the next book to come out. Yes, that’s right, it’s a saga so watch out for this book. I loved this first book and I hope you do too.
A thrilling suspense/mystery/fantasy book mixed with reality and some romance scenes that will get you hooked up till the end.
By the way, Thank you E Van Lowe for giving me the opportunity to read this fantastic book before it hits the shelves. I really loved it.

This book is by far second to the top of angel books (that is The Mortal Instruments and Clockwork Angel) I've ever read. At first, I was hesitant to read it.. But then I just grew loving this book pages after pages. Clara is our heroine, who just recently learned shes an angel(and still learning) and has a purpose in her life to be done. And she is just like any other normal 16 yo girl or atleast thats whats shes been trying to do. The narration was well written that I had finished it in one sitting, I was literally drawn to the mysteries and suspense of the story. I felt connected with Clara whenever shes feeling really sad about someone else's sorrow, only to find out.. Nah not gonna tell you this one, youll have to read it and youll know what I mean. If you love angel books, this one will definitely sweep you off your feet ;) and the romance is like everywhere in this book. Moving on, lets not forget about the horse, Im an animal lover and I do really feel bad with that horse Midas arrggh. hopefully Id be able to see her in the next book :). Speaking of the second book, I am so dying to read this one, I cant wait till next year so unfair! Hallowed will be around this 2012. Hate the nailbitting season!
By the way that cover up there is fab! Here's some of the cover edition.

"One thing I do know is that we can never go back."
In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

The Declaration by Gemma Malley
The Declaration (Declaration #1) by Gemma Malley
Published October 2nd 2007 by Bloomsbury USA Children's Books
Published October 2nd 2007 by Bloomsbury USA Children's Books
"My name is Anna and I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't exist. But I do. Its not my fault I'm here. I didn't ask to be born. But that doesn't make it any better that I was. They caught me early though, which bodes well."
It's the year 2140 and Longevity drugs have all but eradicated old age. A never-aging society can't sustain population growth, however…which means Anna should never have been born. Nor should any of the children she lives with at Grange Hall. The facility is full of boys and girls whose parents chose to have kids—called surpluses—despite a law forbidding them from doing so. These children are raised as servants, and brought up to believe they must atone for their very existence. Then one day a boy named Peter appears at the Hall, bringing with him news of the world outside, a place where people are starting to say that Longevity is bad, and that maybe people shouldn't live forever. Peter begs Anna to escape with him, but Anna's not sure who to trust: the strange new boy whose version of life sounds like a dangerous fairy tale, or the familiar walls of Grange Hall and the head mistress who has controlled her every waking thought?
Chilling, poignant, and endlessly though-provoking, The Declaration is a powerful debut that will have readers agonizing over Anna's fate until the very last page.
I am very picky with dystopian novels but I really do loved this one. And while I was reading this book I had to keep myself from getting frustrated with Anna, I want to bang her head on the wall lol ( kidding). Poor thing really but Anna's character is really effective, she is flawed yes, and and there goes Peter, to save her poor ass, but she is just a stubborn child that she think she deserved being stuck in Grange Hall and be slave as long as shes breathing. But there's still more that Anna didn't know in the outside world, and Peter wont stop until he gets Anna to his side and believe him about something, the reason why he came in the Grange Hall.
This world Gemma Malley had made was awesome, people who can live like forever, but they have to keep themselves from populating that's where the surplus comes. There are scenes that I was fearing for Anna and Peter's life, it was intense. I loved this book I really do. And I think this is also good for young children and adults as well. A very original and well written story that will put you on the edge of your seat. But this should have the right audience, and I know this book is a bit old but I still want them and I cant wait to read the next book its already out anyway 2nd and 3rd book yay!

Dark Souls by Paula MorrisExpected publication: August 1st 2011 by Point
Welcome to York, England.
Mist lingers in the streets.
Narrow buildings cast long shadows.
This is the most haunted city in the world. . . .
Miranda Tennant arrives in York with a terrible, tragic secret. She is eager to lose herself amid the quaint cobblestones, hoping she won’t run into the countless ghosts who supposedly roam the city. . .Then she meets Nick, an intense, dark-eyed boy who knows all of York’s hidden places and histories. Miranda wonders if Nick is falling for her, but she is distracted by another boy — one even more handsome and mysterious than Nick. He lives in the house across from Miranda and seems desperate to send her some sort of message. Could this boy be one of York’s haunted souls? Soon, Miranda realizes that something dangerous — and deadly — is being planned. And she may have to face the darkest part of herself in order to unravel the mystery — and find redemption.
OMG! This is coming out so soon! I cant wait. I am a huge fan of Ruined, one of Paula Morris' books. And I loved how Paula writes her story, especially the settings. This book was set in York England, while Ruined was set New Orleans the oldest and most haunted city. I am like screaming inside, this one is going to be much darker than Ruined.
- Read my reviews: Ruined by Paula Morris is going to be in a film version.
Expected publication: October 4th 2011 by HarperCollins Publishers
The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her. Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.
I'm also anxious to read this book, apart from its gorgeous cover, I also loved the idea of reading Eve's journey out in a cruel world to survive and lets not forget having a bad-boy type Caleb to accompany her *giggles*. I am very picky with dystopian books and I will definitely read this one. So that's all! what's yours? Let's check it out!

Damage by Anya Parrish
Expected publication: September 8th 2011 by Flux
There was a time when I prayed for Rachel to be real. Until the night I learned she'd always planned to kill me.
When Dani was eight, she fell from a building. No one believed her claim that she was pushed by Rachel . . . her imaginary friend. It took years of therapy to convince Dani that Rachel wasn't real.
Now fifteen, Dani wants to make it as a dancer. But a deadly freak accident sends Dani a terrifying message: Rachel is back, she's real, and she'll stop at nothing to kill Dani.
Complicating matters is Jesse, the school bad boy who's being stalked by his own invisible childhood nemesis. Dani and Jesse join forces to learn why their astral tormenters are back. Their investigation leads to a horrifying discovery—and the terrible experiment that binds them to each other.
I think this one is a disturbing thrilling book I couldnt wait to get hold of. Loved the blurb.

Born At Midnight by CC Hunter
Born At midnight by C.C. HunterPublished March 29th 2011 by St. Martin's Griffin
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.
Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belong..
This book is a thrilling paranormal series that kept me up all night. It was a fantastic read, another book that will definitely be on top of my favourites this year. A well written novel that a paranormal lover should watch out for . I just LOVED IT. I loved everything about this book, narration and plot was fabulous , I felt really connected with every characters. I was drawn to the humors and mysteries and deep in to the awesome world that C.C. Hunter made. And lets not forget the intensed romantic scenes of our heroin Kylie. eeeeh
Kylie’s life was falling apart, not mentioning her so complicated lovelife too but also a very shocking truth that she was yet to find out when her Mom signed her up to Shadow Falls Camp. From there her life will never be the same again.
I am so excited for the next book to come out, Im absolutely going to watch out for it. Recommended! So enjoy reading! If you loved this one too as well as I did, well cheers to that! x
Shadowspell (Faeriewalker #2) by Jenna Black
On top of spending most of her time in a bunkerlike safe house and having her dates hijacked by a formidable Fae bodyguard, Faeriewalker Dana Hathaway is in for some more bad news: the Erlking and his pack of murderous minions known as the Wild Hunt have descended upon Avalon. With his homicidal appetite and immortal powers, the Erlking has long been the nightmare of the Fae realm. A fragile treaty with the Faerie Queen, sealed with a mysterious spell, is the one thing that keeps him from hunting unchecked in Avalon, the only place on Earth where humans and Fae live together. Which means Dana’s in trouble, since it’s common knowledge that the Faerie Queen wants her – and her rare Faeriewalker powers – dead. The smoldering, sexy Erlking’s got his sights set on Dana, but does he only seek to kill her, or does he have something much darker in mind?
Published January 4th 2011 by St. Martin's Press
I wonder what it is like to live in Avalon where a very handsome Erlking and his Wild Hunt hunting both Courts’ outcast on the street? But then again, it’s not that bad if all you could see hot faeries everywhere eh? lol.
OK seriously, this 2nd novel of the FaerieWalker Series (a modern fairy tale) was off the hook. A continuation story of a faeriewalker Dana, who ranaway to find her father in Avalon, and discovered the truth behind her Mom’s addiction to alcohols. Actually, this is way better than the first, Glimmerglass. This book didn’t disappoint me at all, that I am dying to get hold of my copy of the Sirensong , the latest novel out this July.
While GlimmerGlass was spanking hilarious, Shadowspell has a serious mood and some gasping scenes that gave me yet a hard time to put it down again. A must have for a fairy book lovers and not :). Recommended.
